Huacachina is a small village built around a natural oasis on the edge of a very dry but beautiful desert. Only 6 kilometers from Ica, the Oasis of Huacachina is a popular attraction for both domestic and foreign visitors. Huacachina is a true oasis, a green dot in a sea of sand due to the giant dunes of pure sand situated behind the village. The area around the lake is known for dune buggy and sandboarding tours.
There are several restaurants, lodgings with swimming pool, internet cafes with Skype, travel agencies, an ATM machine, laundry facilities, a nightclub and places to relax and enjoy a pleasant and quiet atmosphere. There is sunshine and it´s hot nearly every day of the year, rain is very rare.
Although Huacachina is less famous than Machu Picchu, Cuzco and Lake Titicaca, a visit to its relaxed and sandy atmosphere is absolutely worthwhile. Huacachina has much to offer to tourists, and I hope to see you here soon and help you with any questions you may have.
